How do I enter the competition?

  1. Read the competition instructions and eligibility found on The Challenge & Prizes: Eligibility. Sign up for the competition or log in using your Student Competitions' account.
  2. Complete the challenge no later than February 5, 2015.
  3. Apply to The New School and your chosen school and program online no later than February 5, 2015.

How will sharing my video and collecting comments affect my result in the competition?

One finalist per school will be selected solely based on the number of views and number and quality of comments on YouTube. Share your video and let your friends help you reach New York City.

Am I accepted into my chosen bachelor's program if I win the competition?

Yes, we will only chose winners that have applied to The New School (application should be received by The New School no later than February 5, 2015) and who have been offered admission to The New School.

Who will judge the competition?

Student Competitions is involved in the first selection process where 20 finalists per school will be chosen. The winners of the scholarship prizes and iPad Minis will be selected by representatives at The New School.

What are the recommended browsers to enter the challenge?

The latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Safari, as well as Internet Explorer 10.

Can I enter the competition as a team?

No. We only accept entries from individuals. The scholarships and iPads are awarded on an individual basis.

Does the scholarship cover housing and other living expenses?

The scholarship covers tuition and fee charges only and does not cover housing, living expenses or food plans.

I would like to apply to the Paris campus for Parsons The New School for Design. Am I still eligible for the scholarship?

Yes, students applying for either the Paris or New York City campus are eligible for the Parsons scholarships.

Am I eligible to enter the competition?

What is the competition process for high school students graduating
after june 2015?

High School students graduating after summer 2015 are only eligible to compete for the additional prizes (i.e, Apple iPad Mini, not for the scholarships). You must complete all competition steps when competing for additional prizes, however, you do not have to apply to The New School
as part of the competition.

Am I eligible to enter the competition if I am a current student at any of the participating schools?

No. You are unfortunately not eligible to compete if you are currently enrolled as a student at any of the participating schools.

Which school should I choose?

Read The New School section, and visit each school's website to get a feel for which school and bachelor's program would be
the best fit for you.

How can I prepare for the video?

You cannot prepare for the video, but there is no time restriction for completing the video. You have until the deadline of the competition to finish your video submission, so take your time creating it. The video will be used as a tie-breaker so you should spend some time on it!
